An Idea is born

While the concept is not new, the approach to this project is. For years people have been putting bolt on campers on the back of trucks, cutting up SUV's, and making them into high-end campers. But with the TAV SPEC Long Travel system this build is going to the next level.

Our client approached us as we have worked with him on builds over the years. During that time, he has gotten to know Walt and how he thinks about building vehicles, the idea that each vehicle that leaves our shop is Expedition Ready is what brought him back for this project.

Having driven his other vehicle hard and coming to trust the TAV Long Travel Suspension System, he approached us with the idea of partnering with Enduro Campers on this project. Over the past few years, he has gotten to know Leif, the owner of Enduro Campers, and has watched his work closely. During this time, they talked about this project and what it would take to bring it to life.

So he coordinated this “perfect marriage,” as he called with, between Tactical application Vehicles and Enduro Campers to bring this vision to life.

Validated Components

Over the years we have tested and validated our systems and use what we believe are the best components on the market.

Front Suspension

The TAV Spec Stage 2 Long Travel system increases the track width of the vehicle by 2" on either side. To achieve this we utilize the Total Chaos upper and lower control arms. Paired with the new Radflo ROAM series suspension. These shocks are built to handle the extra weight of an expedition vehicle they were the perfect choice for this build.

KDSS

In the rear we added DR KDSS Bolt on Track Bar correction kit. This bolt on kit allows for the cycling of the track bar to be in a more natural state which allows for a smoother ride.

Wheel & Tires

We work with Method Race Wheels on nearly all of our builds. Their Beadgrip Technology allows for extremely low tire pressures on rough terrain. For tires we chose 35" Toyo RT Trails. We have been running these tires on several of our shop trucks and have nothing but good things to say about them.

ENDURO CAMPERS

LIGHT - DURABLE - INSULATED

Enduro's approach to building an expedition camper is different. They prioritize the integration of interior and exterior paneling with insulation as the core structure, reinforced by a specialized 2,000 PSI epoxy. Adding strength and safeguarding corners, aluminum edging forms a protective exoskeleton.

The floor features an internal aluminum framework fused with 2,000 PSI marine laminating epoxy, sandwiched between inner and outer GFRP skins. Enhanced with an additional layer of marine fiberglass board beneath the top skin, this construction yields a robust floor capable of withstanding the rigors of off-road use, including vibrations and impacts.
